Our Story
Founded in 2025 by the husband-and-wife team of Sam and Delaine, Smooshies is proud to be a 100% Annapolis Valley family-owned and operated small business. In 2021, we decided to pack up our suburban life in Montreal, and with our two-year-old in tow, took a leap of faith and moved to the Annapolis Valley to turn our dream of building a homestead a reality. One of the very first things we fell in love with in the Valley was the community atmosphere of the many markets and festivals. We knew pretty much right away that we wanted to become of part of it all somehow. Fast forward a few years (and two more little ones), we decided to build our very own food truck!
But what would we serve? It didn’t take long to land on ice cream sandwiches: the ultimate summer treat that transports us back to our childhoods and combines two of our favourite sweet treats – cookies and ice cream! Then we thought, how can we make an ice cream sandwich even more fun? Is that even possible? Well, having both grown up in the '90s, we instantly drew inspiration from the nostalgic snack foods and treats of our youth. So, we turned them into one of a kind ice cream sandwiches that are guaranteed to take you back to 1996. And as they say, the rest is history!
Born on the streets and fueled by a passion for the perfect bite, Smooshies isn't just a food truck—it's a flavor revolution. We started with a simple dream: to take the classic ice cream sandwich and turn it into an artisanal experience. Every cookie is baked fresh in our truck, and every scoop is packed with love (and maybe a little extra sprinkles).

Our mission is a simple but often difficult goal for most of us to achieve in the increasingly noisy and busy world that surrounds us—to slow down, be truly present in the moment, and appreciate simple pleasures. In other words, to "freeze the moment" whenever and wherever the beauty of life presents itself. It’s part of the reason why we chose to do a '90s inspired menu—to return to our childhoods, and age of innocence that is forever frozen in time. We hope to serve as a catalyst for all those who visit us to create those micro memories, the ones that are forever etched in our minds. And not just for life’s big moments and milestones, but more importantly the small and fleeting everyday moments where we connect with one and other and feel pure gratitude and joy.
